Design Optimization of a Helipad

The customer needed to optimize the weight of a helipad. A helipad is typically made of aluminum sheets, strengthened at the bottom with aluminum beams of different cross-sections. The objective of this analysis was to replace the aluminum with Composites. We made the design 40% lighter and as strong as the original design.
